National & Statewide Food Resources
Department of Social Services
If a family is in need, CalWORKs may be able to help with housing, food, utilities, clothing or medical care, they may be eligible to receive immediate short-term help. Families that apply and qualify for ongoing assistance receive money each month to help pay for housing, food and other necessary expenses.
Bay Area Food Resources
Martin de Porres House of Hospitality
Currently we serve meals six days a week. Most of our meals are vegetarian and often vegan. Lunch service is currently takeout or dining in the courtyard and includes hot soup, fruit, hard boiled egg, water and small snack. Mondays the meal will consist of oatmeal, pastries, fruit, yogurt, hard boiled egg, and tea. LUNCH: 12:00-2:00PM
Alameda County Community Food Bank
Through a network of 300 community-based organizations, including food pantries and soup kitchens, the Food Bank provides food assistance to 40,000 people each week, including low-income and working poor adults, children, the elderly, people with disabilities, abuse survivors, people living with AIDS, and the homeless.
